DiStefano Wines were first introduced in the fall of 1993. The winery, Domaine Whittlesey Mark was established in 1984 as one of the first producers of premium Methode Champenoise wines in the Pacific Northwest. Consistent with the acclaim and reputation of the Whittlesey Mark sparkling wines, the DiStefano wines have received high marks for their quality and distinctive style. The winery's goal is to focus on Fume Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively in the still wine category while continuing to produce small quantities of premium sparkling wine. All new releases of sparkling wine and still wine will be bottled under the DiStefano label. All of the wines are available in most of Seattle's finest restaurants and wine shops. Winery personnel includes Mark Newton (founder and winemaker), Robert Field (cellar master and assistant winemaker) and David Holt (marketing and management). | |
