Hedges Cellars has built an outstanding reputation by specializing in just a few wines: Red Mountain Reserve, Cabernet/Merlot and Fumé/Chardonnay. Vineyards were planted in 1991 on Red Mountain to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Red Mountain is one of the most distinctive subregions of the Yakima Valley appellation, and grapes from this area are some of the most coveted in Washington. 1995 marked the first harvest at their new French chateau-styled winery on Red Mountain. The winery is open on an appointment-only basis for tours and tastings.
