Washington's Nooksack Valley in the northwest corner of the state provides a long, mild growing season for the production of varietals favored by Mount Baker Vineyards. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer are accompanied by Madeline Angevine, Müller-Thurgau and other unique varieties in the winemaking of crisp and floral styles suited to Northwest cuisine. The Mount Baker Winery and Vineyard is located just off Highway 542 east of Bellingham and offers the visitor quiet views of Mt. Baker from the picnic area and tasting room. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm Wed. to Sun., April through December. Winter visits on weekends only.
