Will Gerrior and Karen Peterson, husband and wife, began the Vashon Winery inspired by their original contacts with Chalone Winery and Joseph Swan Winery in California. They have released three vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon from grapes grown at Portteus Vineyard in Zillah, as well as their first Chardonnay and Semillon wines. All wines are hand-made and purposely on a small scale. Currently the winery produces about a thousand cases a year. The winery, centrally located on beautiful Vashon Island, is open for visits by appointment only on Fridays and Saturdays,
11 am to 5 pm.
